This comes just after Gov. Reynolds declared a State of Public Health Disaster Emergency.

As of noon today, the following City facilities will be closed to the public until further notice in order to slow the spread of the coronavirus:

  • Cedar Valley Sportsplex
  • Waterloo Center for the Arts
  • Waterloo Public Library
  • Young Arena
  • The Grout Museum District has also closed to the public.

Other City offices will continue to provide essential services with limited access to City Hall and the Carnegie Building, Leisure Services, Public Works and Waste Management Service facilities.

“We discourage the public from coming to these public buildings to do business,” says Mayor Hart.
