Cedar Rapids cancelling non-essential public meetings

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KWWL) -- Until March 31st, Cedar Rapids will not hold any non-essential public meetings.

In a news release Friday, the city offered the following examples: public open houses for future construction projects, public events such as Fire’s Adult Resource Expo, and City commission or committee meetings without critical/time-sensitive agenda items.

City council will still meet on March 24th but with an adjusted agenda to only include essential items as to not attract as much public comment.

Updated meeting schedules can be found on the city's website.
