Bowl for Kids’ Sake annual fundraiser postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak

"In the interest of public health & safety for our community and stakeholders, our 2020 Bowl For Kids’ Sake fundraisers events have be POSTPONED until further notice," Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Iowa announced.

Cedar Rapids EcoFest canceled

The EcoFest Committee has decided to cancel EcoFest this year due to Coronavirus precautions.

The annual festival was to be held on April 18 and typically brings in around 2,000 people to New Bo City Market for ‘good green fun.’

“After a lengthy discussion about postponement or cancelling, the EcoFest committee decided to cancel EcoFest for this year. We are all sad about this, but determined this was the best thing to do for the public’s health.” EcoFest chair Gail Barels said. “This event will be held again in 2021.”

City of Waterloo announces closure of public facilities

Mayor Quentin Hart announced that the City of Waterloo is working to minimize exposure to the public and City employees.

Meskwaki Casino and Hotel temporarily closed because of coronavirus
