DES MOINES (KWWL) -- The UNI Panthers left no doubt on Saturday as they used a late first half run to take control and top Drake 70-43 on Saturday. The win secured the outright Missouri Valley Conference regular season championship and snapped a 2-game losing streak inside the Knapp Center.

Austin Phyfe tallied a big double-double with 17 points and 18 rebounds in the win. Isaiah Brown and A.J. Green each chipped in 15 points in the Panther victory.

Leading 18-15 with seven minutes remaining in the first half, the Panthers rattled off a 12-3 run to take a 30-18 lead in to the break. Drake cut the lead to six with just over 15 minutes remaining, but the Bulldogs could get no closer down the stretch. UNI outscored the Bulldogs 25-10 over the final 12 minutes to put the game away.

UNI's win secured their first outright conference title since 2010 as they will take the top seed and a bye in to the conference tournament which opens up in St. Louis, MO, on Thursday.
