(KWWL) -- If your kid is in show choir, that could possibly soon count as physical education credit.
A bill would allow middle and high schoolers to fill their physical education credit with show choir if their weekly participation equals the amount of time they would have spent in a physical education class.
The bill was advanced by a Senate subcommittee to the full committee last week.
If passed into law, parents would write a request to the school for approval. The school principal would then review it and come to a decision on whether the student is meeting their physical education requirements.
Show choir combines dance and choreography with choral singing.
