I studied at Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a major in Communications Media and a double minor in Economics and Journalism. My roots go back to the Midwest, I was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and moved to the Pittsburgh area when I was in grade school.
I have had experience at KWWL since I was in middle school. Through a job-shadow opportunity I shadowed my Uncle and former On-Air Talent, Joe Surma, who was covering Friday Night Heroes. From that point on I knew I wanted to pursue a career in story telling and providing a community with news that's accurate and meaningful.
My journey came full circle by officially joining the KWWL team in May of 2018 as an intern, and brought on full-time in September of that same year. I am known as a hybrid in the newsroom from having a broad skill-set in producing, photography, sports and reporting.
Some fun facts about me, my entire Mother's side of the family is from Iowa and many still call the Hawkeye State home. I am also a huge Hawkeye, Panther and Cylcone fan. However, with my Father being from New York I am a New York Yankee and Giants fan.
I love trying new things, and new adventures whether it be locations, books, movies, TV shows you name it. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!
I am extremely grateful to call eastern Iowa home, and I am looking to tell YOUR story!
