BREAKING: 2 Iowans being tested for coronavirus, health officials say
IOWA (KWWL) -- Two Iowans have been isolated as they undergo testing for coronavirus.
This afternoon, the Iowa Department of Public Health said the results of that testing should be back within a few days. But, for now, they won't release any additional details about the two patients, including their identities, or their location.
During a Facebook live stream, Wednesday, IDPH Medical Director and State Epidemiologist Dr. Caitlin Pedati said there's no additional action the public needs to take, right now.
But, she did say the two patients are being tested following travel to China. China's Wuhan province is where coronavirus originated in December.
Experts say the overall risk posed by coronavirus, in the United States, and in Iowa, remains low.
