Snocross Nationals kick-off in Dubuque

DUBUQUE, Iowa (KWWL) - The Snocross Nationals are holding their two-day national competition at the Dubuque County Fair.

Dubuque is the sixth stop for the competitions nationwide tour. Athletes from a variety ages from across the country will compete in snowmobile races and jump competitions.

Miranda Litzau, Vice President of Marketing at SnoCross, said some of their youngest competitors are only seven-years-old.

"So you'll see the huge massive jumps and the really fast turns," said Litzau. "And we have kids to adults, so you'll see X-Games types athletes to the seven-year-old kindergartner that's just trying their best to win that medal."

The event will happen tonight and continue through Saturday evening. The competition will also be aired on CBS Sports and on the Snocross live stream.
