CEDAR FALLS, Iowa (KWWL) - The city of Cedar Falls is declaring a snow emergency to haul snow from the Downtown and College Hill areas of the city.
The snow emergency starts at 8 p.m. on Monday and goes until 6 a.m. on Tuesday.
Beginning at 8 a.m. on Monday, the city is also declaring a snow emergency from the 800 block to the 1200 block of Division Street (Cedar Falls High School).
The parking prohibition will go into effect two hours from the time the declaration is made.
Any car blocking traffic or parking in the designated area will be subject to citation and tow.
According to the City Ordinance, parking is prohibited on each street marked with a sign displaying the words "Emergency Snow Route." The city is asking people to use the city parking lots instead.
The Snow Emergency Ordinance will be in effect for the Parkade, College Hill and Cedar Falls High School areas only.
