Five years later, still no sign of missing Meskwaki woman

TAMA COUNTY, (Iowa) -- Rita Papakee was last seen in Tama County leaving the Meskwaki Bingo Casino five years ago, today there is still no trace of her whereabouts.

Papakee was last seen on January 16th, 2015. She was reported missing on February 18, 2015, by family members and was 41-years-old at the time of her disappearance.

There is a $50,000 reward for any information regarding her disappearance or whereabouts.

Meskwaki Chief of Police Jacob Molitor stated, “At this point, thousands of hours have been spent on the case between the FBI, DCI, MNPD and other area agencies who have collected and shared information with us. We take this case very seriously. Rita’s family and the community deserve answers, but unfortunately, many questions remain.”

According to a missing person flier, Papakee is a mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, auntie, and friend. It also said she is an important member of the Meskwaki Tribe and is missed dearly.

Papakee was born June 1st, 1973, she is 5′ 4″, with brown eyes, long brown hair and was about 145 pounds at the time of her disappearance. According to the missing person flyer, Papakee disappeared under suspicious circumstances.
