Man shot in leg while hunting, DNR investigating

Benton County, Iowa (KWWL) - The Iowa DNR is investigating after a man was shot in the leg while hunting a coyote near Keystone yesterday around noon.

41 year old, Brian McManemy of Blairstown, was riding as a passenger in a pickup truck when one of the firearms in the vehicle discharged. The bullet struck McManemy in the left leg.

He was transported to a Cedar Rapids hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

It happened just north of Highway 30 at 13th Avenue, southwest of Keystone in a field.

This incident remains under investigation by the DNR. The Benton County Sheriff’s Office also responded to the incident.
