DUBUQUE, Iowa (KWWL) - As 2019 comes to a close, two Dubuque venues are preparing to go all out for their New Year's Eve celebrations.
The Diamond Jo Casino is kicking off the new year with dueling pianos. The casino will also have dining and bowling specials.
Wendy Runde, Vice President of the Diamond Jo Casino in Dubuque, said when the clock strikes midnight, the Mississippi Moon Bar will have a balloon drop and a champagne toast.
"When the confetti cannons go off and everyone is toasting at midnight, it is a great place to see the decade come to an end and ring in the new year," said Runde.
The Hotel Julien will host theit "Boogie till the Ball Drops" with a live performance from local funk band, Boogie Monster.
Chrissy Weidermann, Marketing Manager at the Hotel Julien, said the party begins at 9 p.m. and only general admission tickets are available for $50.
"We have live music, we have drinks as well as party favors, as well as a midnight toast, said Weidermann. And that is for anyone who comes in and purchase a ticket. They can get all of that."
Guests must be 21 or older to attend both events. They are both expected to wrap up after midnight.
