BROOKINGS, SD (KWWL) --The UNI Panthers rallied from an early 10-0 deficit to avenge an earlier loss and knock off No. 7 seed South Dakota State 13-10 on Saturday afternoon.
Matthew Cook hit an 18 yard field goal to break a 10-10 tie and give the Panthers their only lead with 2:10 left in the game. The Panther defense forced a turnover on downs on the Jackrabbits final possession to seal the win.
After giving up a touchdown on South Dakota State's opening drive, UNI's defenders set the tone the rest of the way forcing three turnovers and holding SDSU to just 220 yards of total offense.
UNI travels to face No. 2 seed James Madison next weekend in the FCS playoff quarterfinals.
