(NBC) -- There could be a shortage of french fries in 2020.
According to Bloomberg News, cold weather and the affects of Hurricane Dorian has damaged potato crops in the United States and Canada.
This means smaller potatoes and pressure on supplies for french fry processors.
French fry makers typically use longer potatoes.
The US Department of Agriculture is estimating domestic output will drop more than six percent this year; that's the lowest level since 2010.
