UNI, Iowa State earn NCAA volleyball bids

CEDAR FALLS, AMES (KWWL) — The Northern Iowa Panthers and Iowa State Cyclones are set to return to the big dance. Both programs received at-large bids to the NCAA volleyball tournament during Sunday night’s selection show.

UNI will face Missouri on Friday night in Lincoln, Nebraska. The winner will face the victor of the Nebraska/Ball State match-up on the other side of the bracket. The Panthers won the Missouri Valley Conference regular season title and fell to Illinois State in the final of the conference tournament. The selection marks the fifth straight season the Panthers will play in the tournament.

Iowa State earned an at-large bid after a 17-11 season and an 8-8 finish in Big 12 play. The Cyclones have earned bids in 13 of the past 14 seasons. Iowa State will face Creighton on Friday in Minneapolis. The winner will face the winner of the Minnesota/Fairfield match-up.
