Nebraska tops UNI wrestlers on bonus points

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) — Seventeenth ranked UNI split their ten matches with No. 3 Nebraska on Saturday, but bonus points made the difference in a 23-19 loss. The Cornhuskers scored one fall, two tech falls, and a major decision in the win in the West Gym.

The Panthers also picked up a pair of bonus point wins. Jay Schwarm caught former 4-time Iowa state champion Alex Thomsen in a cradle and won by fall after trailing 6-2 in the match. Taylor Lujan got a late flurry to knock off second ranked Taylor Venz by a 15-6 major decision.
