Suspect arrested following chase, woman allegedly held at gunpoint in Cedar Rapids

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa. (KWWL) – Cedar Rapids Police Department received a call around 9:30 this morning for a 41-year-old female being held against her will at Inn Circle.

The suspect allegedly had a handgun.

Police officers were then told the victim and suspect were in a vehicle heading northbound on 6th Street SW.

The victim was reportedly driving the vehicle while being held at gunpoint.

Officers arrived in the area of 6th Street when the victim jumped out of the vehicle.

The suspect then took off in the vehicle on Hawkeye Downs Road toward J Street SW.

After a short chase, the suspect flipped the vehicle and rolled into a tree near Haven Court and Wilson Avenue SW.

Officers arrested Joshua John Bradshaw, 33.

Police say a handgun was found.

Bradshaw was taken to a hospital for minor injuries.

Police say the victim and suspect knew each other.
