UNI women hammer Iowa snapping 12 game Hawkeye streak

CEDAR FALLS (KWWL) — UNI left no doubt on Sunday. The Panthers rolled to an 88-66 win over in-state rival Iowa, snapping the Hawkeye’s 12-game winning streak in the series.

Kam Finley led UNI by consistently being able to drive to the bucket scoring a team-high 20 points in the win. Three other Panthers, Abby Gerrits (15), Kristina Cavey (14), and Nicole Kroeger (13) joined Finley in double digits.

MacKenzie Meyer led the Hawkeyes with 14 points.

UNI never trailed in the contest and never led by less than 13 points in the second half. They shot 52 percent from the floor in the win and hit 10 of 26 three-point attempts.

With the win the Panthers improved to 4-0 for the first time since 1998.
