South Dakota State squashes UNI 38-7

BROOKINGS, South Dakota (KWWL) – The Northern Iowa offense couldn’t get any traction Saturday, as the Panthers fell to the Jackrabbits 38-7 on the road.

UNI quarterback Will McElvain completed just 12 passes and also threw three interceptions. The three picks are his most in a game this year.

South Dakota State (8-3), conversely, was doing whatever it wanted on offense. The Panthers couldn’t contain junior WR Cade Johnson, who went off for 134 yards and a TD.

The loss snaps a 4-game winning streak for the Panthers (7-4). They will try to bounce back, and finidh the regular season strong, next week against Western Illinois.
