Oskaloosa’s Xavier Foster picks Iowa State over Iowa

OSKALOOSA (KWWL) — Oskaloosa 7-footer Xavier Foster made his decision on Monday choosing Iowa State over Iowa. The 4-star center is considered one of the top in-state recruits in Cyclone basketball history.

Foster announced Iowa and Iowa State as his final two schools in late October narrowing the list from his final five. He held numerous scholarship offers including Kansas, Baylor, USC, and UCLA, among others.

Last season as a senior, Foster helped lead Oskaloosa to a class 3A state championship. He averaged 14.4 points per game on 53 percent shooting and led class 3A with 148 blocks which doubled the second highest total.

The Cyclones offered Foster early in his high school freshman season. He can officially sign with ISU when the early signing period opens up on Wednesday.
