UPDATE: Cedar Bend Humane Society’s “Help Us Help Them” fundraiser raises over $41k

UPDATE (Nov. 7, 2019) – Help Us Help Them was a great success for the Cedar Bend Humane Society Thursday night.  According to organizers, over $41,000 was donated at the event.

WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL) — The Cedar Bend Humane Society will hold their “Help Us Help Them” fundraiser on Thursday, November 7.  The community is invited and encouraged to attend.

The “Help Us Help Them” fundraiser will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Cedar Falls.  Appetizers, cocktails and a program will be the features for those attending. During the social hour, which begins at 6 p.m., the Cedar Bend Humane Society’s “adoptable furry friends” will make an special appearance, as well. KWWL’s Abby Turpin will be the emcee for the program (starts at 7 p.m.) for the third year in a row.  Last year’s event raised $31,000.

The Cedar Bend Humane Society is a non-profit organization, and is the only full-service animal shelter in Black Hawk County.

There is no cost to attend the event, but the money raised from donations will go to the programs at the humane society.  Those include spay and neuters, medical care, adoption ready needs, and lost and found services.
