NICL Coed Cross Country Meet

JESUP (KWWL)--Boys and girls cross country state qualifying meets are next week... Tonight are the conference races...And in Jesup it is the NICL coed meet.

In the girls of the top runners in class 2-A, Aplington-Parkersburg's Sophia Jungling shows why she is a threat to win state in a couple of weeks.

Jungling races to another conference championship in 18 minutes and 58 seconds

Sophia Jungling, "Yeah right from the start I knew how to get out fast maintain my place in the beginning that's what I told my teammates we were coming out here to keep our title today every mile marker I just tried to gain a little bit pick it up a little bit."

And in the boys race feature a strong field---including Union Community's outstanding distance runner.. Lake LeBahn...

The Union Knight senior finished fifth in the state as a sophomore... And eleventh last year.

Tonight lake LeBahn is going to capture the NICL cross country title in his senior season winning in a time of 16 minutes and 29 seconds.

Lake Lebahn, "It feels good I got it my sophomore year and then I got second last year it feels good to get back on top...We want to qualify as team we have the talent and we have been working really hard so we will give it our best shot at state qualifying."

State coed coss country meet is November 2nd.
