Chicken recall expands because of listeria contamination

(CNN) — Multiple types of chicken and chicken products are being recalled because of possible listeria contamination.

The products were sold under multiple brands, in dozens of stores, including: Trader Joe’s, Giant Supermarket, Kroger, Aldi, Food Lion, Target, Harris Teeter, Bi-Lo, Piggly Wiggly, Kings Supermarket and Jersey Mike’s.

So far, no one has gotten sick.

Tip Top Poultry issued a recall last month, and expanded it this week.

The products have a best by date between January 21 and September 24.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture says its likely eating any of these chicken products will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death.
