ISU’s Purdy picks up a pair of honors

AMES (KWWL) — Iowa State sophomore Brock Purdy continues to set the standard in Ames. On Saturday, the Cyclone signal caller became the first player in program history to record a fourth straight game with at least 300 yards of total offense.

On Monday, he picked up a pair of awards. Purdy was named a “great 8” performer by the Davey O’Brien Award and was one of eight “Stars of the Week” for the Manning Award.

In Saturday’s 49-24 win over TCU, Purdy tallied 349 yards of total offense (247 pass yards, 102 rush yards), ran for a pair of scores, and threw for two more. Purdy also recorded the Cyclones’ longest rush of the season (44 yards).
