Waterloo Police arrest man for weapons, drugs after traffic stop

Waterloo Police arrested a man shortly after midnight on Wednesday, after conducting a traffic stop.

The traffic stop took place near Edwards and Broadway Streets.

According to police, as officers were making the stop, Corvelous Caston, 29, ran from the passenger’s side of the car.

Police say he was apprehended a short distance away, and was found to be in possession of a handgun, and suspected ecstasy.

Caston was charged with Carrying Weapons, Possession of a Firearm as a Felon, Interference with official acts, Drug Tax Stamp violation, and felony possession of a controlled substance.
