August 2019 Climate Numbers

We typically think of August as a hot and humid month. We had a few of those days but we have also had some cooler than normal days. This all averages out to show near normal temperatures for the month. There were no temperature records broken or tied this month. Not too many days when the temperature was 90+. Actually some locations never got to 90 degrees.

Rain amounts were near normal for the month. There were times where it was hot and dry and Drought Monitor had some some locations in a Moderate Drought category at the end of the month.

Here is a break down of what day the rain fell and how much for Waterloo, Dubuque, Cedar Rapids and Iowa City.
