Motorcycle crash in central Iowa leaves one dead

CLARK COUNTY, Iowa (KWWL) – An Indianola man is dead following a crash in Clarke County.

The Iowa State Patrol said it happened Saturday evening just after 5 p.m. along Highway 69.

Betty Husted, 63, of Ankeny was riding a motorcycle on the highway and lost control. Husted and her passenger, Raymond Douglas, 63, of Indianola were thrown from the motorcycle.

Husted had serious injuries and was flown to a Des Moines hospital. Douglas had critical injuries and was pronounced dead at a Des Moines hospital.

Neither Husted nor Douglas were wearing helmets at the time of the crash. Authorities listed Husted as inexperienced and unlicensed.
