At Least 6 Injured from Lightning Strike Near Atlanta

According to a CNN report from Sunday morning, at least 6 people were injured at a PGA Tour Champion tournament near Atlanta Saturday when lightning struck a tree. All have been treated and released and the injuries did not appear to be serious.

Players and spectators were taking cover from the storm at the time, including this group of people which had sought shelter underneath a cluster of trees. The victims were lucky. They were injured from flying debris rather than electrocuted according to reports. Had that been the case, the situation may have turned out differently. Video below shows the spectacular moment the lightning struck.
