IOWA CITY, Iowa (KWWL) — An Iowa City man is facing charges after assaulting another person and an officer who was trying to break it up.
This all happened in the early morning hours of Sunday at 1:26 a.m on Washington and Clinton Street.
19-year-old Corey Graham was arrested for assault on a person of a certain occupation, a police officer.
According to a criminal complaint, a police officer witnessed Graham assaulting another man on the ground over and over. The officer told Graham to stop. When he didn’t the officer attempted to grab Graham but he pushed the officer away with both hands. Graham then ran from the officer after he attempted to stop him again.
Graham was later caught in a foot chase with police.
He’s now facing charges of interference of official acts and disorderly conduct for fighting or violent behavior as well as an assault on a person of a certain occupation.
