TRACKING: A Few Showers/Storms This Weekend

It is a beautiful August afternoon across the state. We have a sunny sky and temperatures in the 70s and 80s. The humidity level is very low for August…it will be more humid this weekend.

The sky is clear this evening and will become partly cloudy overnight. The humidity level remains low allowing lows to drop into the upper 50s and low 60s.

There is a chance for a few showers/storms Saturday across eastern Iowa. The humidity level gradually increases Saturday and Saturday night. Sunday and Monday will be real muggy.

We will continue the chance of showers/storms Saturday night and Sunday. It will not rain the entire time but at any point a shower/storm is possible in eastern Iowa. The best chance of showers/storms will be Monday. Right now that looks to be a pretty wet day most of the day.

Here is a look at the rain forecast through Monday evening. Some locations could see as much as 2” of rain. This doesn’t mean everyone gets that amount.

If you are heading to the State Fair, there is a slight chance of a shower/storms each day. There should be a lot of dry time. Sunday will be a lot more humid than Saturday.
