Study focuses on public’s attitude toward Cedar Rapids Police

A study was recently conducted to gauge how Cedar Rapids residents feel toward their police department.

A criminal justice professor at Mount Mercy University conducted the study this past spring.

It found roughly 73 percent of respondents are “satisfied” or “very satisfied” with Cedar Rapids Police.

The study reported, in general, contact with officers enhanced attitudes toward police. However, it also found, minorities in general report less positive attitudes toward Cedar Rapids officers.
