WATERLOO, Iowa (KWWL) – A man is now facing charges in after a woman’s body was found in a Waterloo cemetery in January 2018.
The Waterloo Police Department says it served warrants for Fredrick Williams for First-Degree Murder and Abuse of a Corpse on Wednesday. Williams was already in custody at the Clarinda Correctional Facility for allegedly violating parole in a separate 2014 robbery.
The new charges date back to a grim discovery on January 26 of last year, when the body of Lakisha (Owens) Williams was discovered in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. She had been missing for five days, and an autopsy later determined (Owens) Williams died from a homicide.
Family members told KWWL that the two were married during 2018 reports.
