Moes’ shutout leads Black Hawks to 4-0 win over Sioux City

WATERLOO (KWWL) — Jared Moe didn’t let anything slip past. The Waterloo goalie stopped all 20 shots sent his way as the Waterloo Black Hawks topped Sioux City 4-0 to end a three game skid.

The shut-out marked the second straight on home ice for Moe who also blanked the Madison Capitals on New Year’s Eve.

After failing to score in the opening series, Waterloo broke free in the second. Vladislav Firstov’s shot got tipped by Ben Kraws glove, but the puck flipped over his shoulder and in to the net. Later in the period Ryan Drkulec added the second tally with a backhander in to the top corner.

Waterloo leading scorer Matej Blumel scored his 21st and 22nd goals in the third to cap a solid offensive game for Waterloo.
