Dachshund parade kicks of New Year’s Eve celebrations

KEY WEST, Florida– Hundreds of Dachshund canines took a stroll at the annual Key West Dachshund walk.

Organizers say more than 300 Dachshunds participated. Some of the dogs wore costumes or accessories, like Santa and Mrs. Claus, a cheerleader, wieners in buns and superheroes.

It was a relaxing prelude to the night-time festivities. Thousands of people are expected to be on the island to ring in 2019.
