(NBC) — 2019 is almost here, which means millions of Americans are busy planning their New Year’s Eve celebrations.
According to the Wallethub, 24 percent of Americans plan to celebrate New Year’s Eve at home this year.
The poll says that 83 percent of Americans will spend less than $200 on ringing in the New Year.
Only 15 percent of Americans plan to attend a public event or go to parties, and 3 percent don’t plan on celebrating at all.
But for those who do, the average hourly rate for a baby sitter on New Year’s Eve is $17.88. That’s 20 percent more than any other time of the year. And at the stroke of midnight, 54 percent plan to kiss someone to ring in 2019.
