Several people hurt in Black Hawk County collision

BLACK HAWK COUNTY, Iowa (KWWL) – Authorities with the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office say a collision at Highway 63 and Cedar Wapsi Road on Thursday resulted in hospital trips for two, and medical assessments for two more.

Sheriff’s deputies say the crash happened around 3:38 p.m., when a truck and an SUV collided. They say 41-year-old Joel Rochford, of New Hampton, and a passenger in his truck both sought out medical assessments after the crash. 80-year-old Oelwein woman Janet Levendusky was behind the wheel of the SUV — Levendusky, along with her passenger, were both taken to the hospital with injuries that deputies do not believe to be life-threatening.

Black Hawk County deputies worked alongside the Iowa State Patrol Iowa Department of Transportation, Oelwein Ambulance and Denver Fire/Ambulance at the scene.
