Washington D.C. (KWWL) – Iowa Senator Joni Ernst is encouraging women to stand up to men in power.
At a ‘Women Rule’ summit in Washington Tuesday, she said women need to be more aggressive, if they want their voices to be heard.
“We have to encourage women to step forward and sometimes that means challenging very powerful men that have served in leadership before. That’s OK, folks. We have got to be a little more aggressive about what we do. If we want our voices heard, then we have to decide we’re going to engage,” said Ernst.
Politico’s ‘Women Rule’ program aims to create opportunities for women to advance their leadership skills, knowledge, and network.
