It’s going to be an overall nice, fall day across eastern Iowa. The sky will be mostly cloudy to partly cloudy this afternoon. Temperatures will be seasonable in the upper 50s to low 60s with a WSW wind 5-10 mph.
A stronger system impacts the area later tonight into Sunday. Scattered light rain showers are possible overnight, but the bigger story will be the wind.
Southwest winds switch to the northwest 10-20 mph a cold front passes through tonight. A few lingering showers are possible Sunday morning, otherwise it will be partly cloudy to mostly sunny with highs in the 50s. Winds will be NW 15-30 mph, gusting to 45 mph at times.
The wind relaxes a bit Sunday night into Monday, leading to a nice start to the work week. There is a slight chance for a few showers Tuesday, with a dry Halloween in store.
