Plane makes emergency landing in Cedar Rapids

Officials say a UPS cargo plane made an emergency landing in Cedar Rapids Wednesday morning due to smoke in the cockpit.

Personnel on the plane evacuated safely and were taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

The cause of the smoke is still being investigated. The plane had been flying from Rockford, Illinois to St. Louis before diverting to The Eastern Iowa Airport in Cedar Rapids.
