Union beats Beckman in season opener

In class 2A its Union playing host to Dyersville Beckman.

The Union Knights return 13 starters from a team that made it to the 2A state semifinal game.

Beckman looks to avenge a 41-6 loss to Union.

Union Knights enter the season ranked number two in the state.

The Knights with a good opening drive.. Britton Rolison slashes for six inside the Beckman 10 yard line.

And then on fourth and one Braden Gross on the read option gets into the end zone 7-0 Knights.

Beckman comes right back.. Owen Groverman rips off a 40 yard run…To the Union nine yard line.

But on fourth and goal from the one the Knight defense comes up with a huge goal line stop…

And on the very next play lightning strikes and i don’t mean the weather…Dylan Felderman heaves a throw from his own end zone…And Britton makes the Rolison catches it and goes 99 yard for the touchdown….Union takes a 13-0 lead.

That connection was so pretty Union tries it again.. Felderman fires a 50 yard touchdown pass to britton to the Knights a 20-0 lead in the second quarter—Union head coach Joe Haddachek’s team holds on for a 26-13 win
