One of the aunts of Mollie Tibbetts has made a statement per her Facebook page following the news of her death and the arrest of a murder suspect in the case.
On Tuesday, authorities arrested Christhian Bahena Rivera for the murder of Tibbetts. Authorities believe River has lived in rural Poweshiek County for 4-7 years as an undocumented immigrant, sparking a debate on the topic of immigration nationally.
Tibbetts aunt, Billie Jo Calderwood, made a public Facebook post at 8 p.m. Tuesday night addressing the ordeal.
Please remember, Evil comes in EVERY color. Our family has been blessed to be surrounded by love, friendship and support throughout this entire ordeal by friends from all different nations and races. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
