Carlos Honore was one of Iowa’s top high school football players of the mid-1990’s.
He scored 74 touchdowns and rushed for more than 4,000 yards in leading Iowa City West to a State football championship in 1995.
But, Carlos Honore says he struggled off the field during his days at Iowa City West. He needed some extra help, and credits many people, including his former high school coach, Reese Morgan, for helping him find his way.
Carlos believes far too many young people today needed that kind of help and guidance.
That’s why Carlos Honore has come back to Iowa, to continue his mission of helping at-risk youth through his successful program know as the 5th Ward Saints North.
Carlos Honore and KWWL Sports Director, Rick Coleman, talked about the 5th Ward Saints on The Steele Report.
